Hey, adventurers! Wez here - supersonic SearchBuddy, extreme explorer and wellie-boot wearer.
This week I’ve been looking at tree rings. (No, Wanda, tree rings aren’t jewellery for plants!) They are the layers of wood in a tree trunk and you can only see them in cross-section when the tree is chopped down. Each ring shows one year of growth. So, if you count the rings, you can tell how old the tree is. (It's just like counting Wij's wrinkles! Hee hee!) If the rings are wide apart, you can tell that the weather in those years was really good because the tree put on a lot of new growth. If the rings are very close together, you can tell that the weather was colder or drier because the tree didn’t grow much at all. If there are any woods or forests near you, see if you can find a tree stump. Count the rings and work out how old the tree was when it was cut down.

Real pearl divers can dive up to depths of 40 metres and hold their breath for two minutes! I held my breath a few times playing this game, especially when I spotted the sharks!

A great basketball game made even greater because I beat Wij every time! Hee-hee. And, I bet you will, too. But, make sure you go outside and play some real sport as well. This game is really good fun - you have to draw a track and ride your bike along it. I whiled away a whole rainy afternoon playing this because I couldn't go out bug-hunting!
